Here are USA Shooting rules. Shooting is the act or process of discharging firearms or other projectile weapons such as bows or crossbows. Even the firing of artillery, rockets, and missiles can be called shooting. A person who specializes in shooting is a marksman. Shooting can take place in a shooting range or in the field in hunting, in shooting sports, or in combat.
Origin of shooting refers to 13th century. The first shooting clubs were formed in the 13th and 14th centuries by the Germans, and membership was typically reserved for men only. The first forms of shooting competitions in the U.S. were called “rifle frolics” or “turkey shoots.” Prizes ranged from beef, turkey or other food items. The first matches were developed between 1790 and 1800.
